Chestnut-Mushroom Mustard
Our chestnut mushroom mustard is a very special and unique product!
Anyone who has ever looked for mushrooms (Bavarian: mushrooms) and cleaned them afterwards knows that the effort compared to the yield can sometimes be quite frustrating ... And when you also dry the mushrooms, one basket of mushrooms is still one Handful left. For our mustard, we only use young, dried bread stubble mushrooms that we collect ourselves in the forest.
The second component of our mustard composition also takes some effort. The chestnuts come from our own land. First of all, we collect them every day in autumn and are well armored with leather gloves - the outer shells are extremely prickly and painful! A large sack of spiky chestnuts then leaves a bowl of shiny brown fruit ... And then the work really starts - the shell is slit, the chestnuts are heated in the oven and peeled hot - the inner skin is really tough. The chestnuts are then boiled and frozen for further use.
The composition of chestnuts and mushrooms has a mild, very distinctive taste with a fine mushroom note. Excellent for fillets, for example, or just like that on bread.
Just try it out - we look forward to your feedback on our latest creation!
