About us

We have been the proud owners of a charming quinta with three hectares of land in the rural village of Bravo in central Portugal since 2010. Our land offers a great variety of mature, productive, and diverse fruit trees, vines, and olives. It soon became apparent that we could not consume the incredible amount of our own fruits, the wonderful vegetables, mushrooms, etc. that grow here ourselves. Simply throwing them on the compost or letting them go to waste was never an alternative for us! Everything just tastes too good for that!

Very quickly, we started to refine our products. On the one hand to conserve them so we could enjoy them throughout the year and, on the other hand, to allow others to enjoy our agricultural products which are harvested only when fully ripened. Right from the start, we made sure to use natural ingredients that, if possible, come from our own cultivation. By the way, we fertilize with compost and self-made organic shredding and do not use insecticides or pesticides on our land! This makes the work a little more complex, but we can be sure that we have healthy, fresh, and unpolluted fruit and vegetables on the table. By the way: our water comes from two ancient water mines that had been dug far into the slate mountain a long time ago − it is naturally filtered, clear, free of chemical additives and always wonderfully cool!

In 2020 we finally decided to establish the brand “Origem em Bravo” to share our love for fantastic food and the finest ingredients with as many people as possible. We are very pleased with how enthusiastically our produce has been received. A loyal, regular customer base developed very quickly, and they love our specialties as much as we do!
